The longest trek of the trip so far is today’s trek up to Periche, a nice tea house with showers and a chance for some laundry. The last of the tea houses for after Periche it’s all tents. But first we trek up through Pengbouche where we stop for a blessing at the Monastery and blessed by the local Lama. Then, being blessed, we head up to Periche along with the multitude of yaks and Trekkers headed to Everest Base Camp. A long winding trail with some steps but great views along the valley with a river down below. Today we lose two of the Trekkers who have dropped behind. They will spend the night in Pengbouche and catch up with us tomorrow. We are climbing in altitude and it has claimed its first two victims.
